I wrote to the Neighbourhood Inspector this week to seek reassurance for the safety of residents in Heywood and Middleton after a couple of incidents over the last weekend.
I’m grateful for his very speedy and encouraging response. I fully support our police officers as they continue to carry out a difficult job with few resources after over a decade of austerity under the previous government.
I will be meeting him in the coming months to discuss how I can lobby for greater resources from Government, and how we as a community can work with Greater Manchester Police to make our communities safer.
