Heidi Alexander is the Secretary of State for Transport, and I had an opportunity to ask questions about some important strategic topics which affect Heywood and Middleton North at the Transport Select Committee in April 2025.
I believe that better transport links are vital for towns like Heywood and Middleton. Investment and strategic decision-making needs to be bold and make the most of new opportunities like Great British Rail (the new state-owned rail operator). Only a big commitment will make a transformational difference in areas that have been underserved for transport links in the future.
We were all very appreciative of Heidi to come and appear at the Select Committee and answering our questions. It’s important that Government ministers come and talk to us, and I send my thanks.
