Better Transport
I strongly believe that better transport can transform communities, letting people foster deeper connections with each other and find a wider pool of job opportunities.
In Heywood and Middleton North, we are so close to the economy of Manchester, but without the connections the jobs and businesses there can seem impossibly far. That’s why I want to see train, tram and bus connections to the centre improved.
Opportunities that are closer to home, such as Atom Valley, will also be more successful if the full range of workers from the local community can access the jobs there.
That’s why I will be campaigning for better Transport on every day that I represent the area in Parliament.
I have also been elected onto the Transport Select Committee, as part of my commitment to fight for more investment and better services in transport. By being deeply involved at the national legislative level, I hope to be able to keep campaigning at every level for our area.
This page will be my campaign hub for better transport for residents in Heywood and Middleton North. With regular updates locally and nationally to tell you what is happening, and asking for your thoughts and ideas.
To start, I am asking for your views on bus services in the area. The Bus Network Review by Transport for Greater Manchester is due to take place in early 2025 and I want your views on how to represent you and others who live here. Please fill in the survey below and leave your contact details so I can keep you informed.
Thank you,
Elsie
Heywood & Middleton North Bus Survey
I want to hear from residents in my constituency about the bus services they use and how they should be improved. Please answer honestly and positively about what would improve your experience and/or increase your use of busses.
