Bring Back the Express!
Will you join me in calling for an express direct-to-Manchester city centre bus service to be reinstated?
The service could be an employment life line, an affordable option to access the jobs and opportunities within the Greater Manchester city region, one of the most dynamic economies in the country.
I am sending an open letter to Mayor Andy Burnham, calling on him to Bring Back the 167!. Read the letter and sign it below.
Dear Mayor Andy Burnham,
As a resident in Heywood and Middleton North, I want to see a fast and reliable cheap public transport solution to my problem of getting into Manchester City Centre. For work, leisure, education, or health reasons, many people rely on Manchester as the centre of our city region.
But not every area can reach the City Centre easily. In fact some areas are being left behind – unable to access the jobs and opportunities that exist. I live in one of those areas.
Elsie Blundell MP has been campaigning to Bring Back the 167 as an express, direct to Manchester city centre service, serving the areas in her constituency. Her proposal is backed by a survey that shows such a service would be popular with local people and increase their willingness to use the buses.
I am adding my name to this open letter as a resident of the area and ask you to Bring Back the 167!
Signed,
Resident of Heywood and Middleton North
